Ghanian University Wins Global Competition in Thailand Over Ivy League Universities
A team of students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has won the esteemed Global Packaging Award for 2024, surpassing competition from Ivy League colleges.
The skilled trio, comprising of two girls and one guy, won first place, second place, and third place medals in three different categories. Their achievements were honored during the event hosted in Thailand, arranged under the patronage of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
The KNUST team received a gold medal for their exceptional performance in the category of Best Food Packaging, a silver medal for their outstanding work in Sustainable Packaging, and a bronze medal for their commendable efforts in Food Preservation Packaging. Their groundbreaking work showcases the outstanding aptitude and ingenuity nurtured at KNUST.
The primary objective of the Global Packaging Award competition is to showcase the skills and ingenuity of students specializing in the packaging industry. In the 2024 edition, athletes from several countries took part, but the KNUST squad distinguished themselves with their exceptional performance.
The squad confidently displayed their medals in a post on the @VOICE_of_KNUST’s X (formerly known as Twitter) page. Classmates and faculty members sent their admiration and felicitations.
