LASU ranks and explains the number and categories of prospective students who are denied admission.

Lagos State University (LASU) has declared that a total of 295 candidates who were initially granted provisional admission may ultimately forfeit their positions as a result of their failure to obtain final clearance and matriculation numbers.

The administration of LASU announced on Tuesday, April 2 that the 295 candidates in question are among the 12,298 who have been granted provisional admissions to various departments within the university.

The candidates failed the 2023/2024 LASU Central Admissions Clearance, LACACA, and Operations, as reported by the institution.

Consequently, the candidates are ineligible to participate in the university’s first-semester examination, which commences on Tuesday.

LASU explained that the denial of certification for the 295 candidates was not attributable to the university’s internal procedures, but rather to their failure to submit the necessary documents or information.

One of these entailed the submission of O’Level results through the JAMB portal to substantiate the assertions made in support of the admissions offers.

The factors for non-cleared candidates are recorded in the following statistics: Candidates whose results were inconsistent or unavailable on the WAEC/NECO portals were rejected at ICT on 26:66 candidates were denied admission to the faculty level on account of name inconsistencies on WAEC/NECO/JAMB admission letters and the absence of admission letters.
