Mbah gives Enugu students scholarships for winning the President’s National Debate Championship.
The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has granted university scholarships and monetary awards to four students who represented the state and triumphed in the 25th President’s Inter-Secondary School Debate Championship in Abuja.
Governor Mbah, when receiving the team and the trophy at the Government House, underscored the significance of education in wealth generation and addressing insecurity, committing to sustained investment in the area.
He declared further support for the students, who will now represent Nigeria in an international debate tournament in the United States, and praised the team’s merit-based selection procedure.
Rev. Fr. Hilary Mgbodile, the Chairman of the Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB), commended the governor’s commitment to openness and meritocracy, highlighting that the children were chosen after a rigorous statewide competition.
