A Nigerian woman went viral after sharing that four UK universities accepted her despite her informal application and low expectations.
She posted on X (previously Twitter) about her surprise, saying the applications were done “for fun” owing to budgetary constraints that made studying abroad improbable.

She wrote:
All four UK MSc applications I made for fun (to see funding) were accepted. Without funding, is it this easy?
Her unexpected accomplishment generated a flood of responses from people with comparable international schooling experiences and viewpoints.
Some responses:
- @a4_abdul1: “By far the easiest I’ve tried. Will most likely come with a stipend scholarship… lol.”
- @That_Rahman: “I raise you US schools—those ones would always keep you on your toes, and they offer funding too.”
- @Bawzz_lady: “It’s US schools that will make you jump through hoops. They’re very thorough and often have funding.”
- @Al_phafees1: “Had a similar experience in 2023. Applied to 2 universities in Canada and 1 in the UK, and all admitted me. I was just trying it out because, honestly, where was I going to get the money?” •
- @Rilex_xclusive: “Yes. They want us to bring our money over there. It’s a major business sector in the UK.”
- @Horiyourme: “One day, Nigerians will realize UK schools aren’t doing us a favor—they’re running a business. We’re just numbers.”
Her narrative shows international admissions’ accessibility and the expanding discussion about education, affordability, and the global student market.
