Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN) has issued a response regarding the recent controversy surrounding the handling of a case involving indecent dressing by a security staff member.
This incident resulted in bodily injuries to the student involved, raising concerns about the professionalism of the college’s security personnel.
In light of the situation, the college administration emphasizes its commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of all students. NOCEN acknowledges the need for appropriate protocols when addressing issues of dress code and assures the community that it takes such matters seriously.
The following actions have been taken by Management:
- The girl has received adequate medical attention at both the College Medical Center and the State Teaching Hospital. Medical staff have confirmed that she is fit and now continues to study for her examination.
- The Director of Security has been queried.
- A panel of inquiry has been established to address the internal aspects of the matter related to unprofessional conduct and breaches of the College’s ethical codes. The panel will submit its report on or before Thursday, the 26th.
- The external aspect bothering on possible crime has been reported to the police and the security personnel involved have been arrested and are undergoing investigation for alleged causing bodily harm on another.
