Ogun State Polytechnic Students Protest Hit-and-Run Killing of Colleague
Gateway ICT Polytechnic students in Saapade, Ogun State, protested the alleged hit-and-run accident that killed Idowu Pelumi David.
The horrific occurrence at the NYSC Camp on July 8, 2024, sparked anger and cries for justice. A hit-and-run driver hit first-year Public Administration student Idowu Pelumi David.
The kids accused a NYSC employee of killing David, holding banners with varied inscriptions.
The kids wrote to the Ogun State Police Command to express their grief and demand accountability. They alleged a cover-up and demanded a police probe.
Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu, represented by Operations Manager Fergus, promised students of an inquiry. Students want immediate action and openness after the event raised road safety and accountability concerns.
Gateway Polytechnic NANS members will maintain peaceful demonstrations until justice is accomplished.
