Adazi Nnukwu, Anambra, receives a N10 million donation from Peter Obi, a former presidential contender.

A N10 million donation was made to the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi Nnukwu, which is situated in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra, by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for 2023.

The institution’s owner, the Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, received the check from Mr. Obi.

“Nurses are crucial to the nation’s health sector given the enormity and importance of their work,” Mr. Obi said, highlighting the critical role that nurses play in the health sector. They should receive all the care possible.

“We cannot talk about healthcare, which is very important to national development, without talking about healthcare workers,” he said, emphasizing the necessity for budgetary assistance for such institutions given their considerable contribution to training healthcare professionals. By educating these individuals, we can better safeguard our future.

In addition, Mr. Obi pledged the institution his ongoing support and emphasized the significance of preparing nurses for the future.

Bishop Ezeokafor responded by thanking Mr Obi for his kindness and recognizing his long history of support for the organization, both as a private man and before and during his time as governor.
