The Governing Council, which is chaired by Professor Toyin Ogundipe, FAS, FLS, has appointed Pastor David Akintola as the university’s acting registrar and Dr. Pauline Adeniran as its acting university librarian, respectively, in order to reposition Redeemer’s University for improved performance and efficient corporate governance while the two substantive principal officers are being appointed.
On November 23, 1963, Pastor Akintola was born in Minna, Niger State. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) in Crop Science from the University of Ibadan in 1987 and a Master of Science in Agronomy (Crop Science) in 1989. In addition, he has a postgraduate theological diploma. From October 1991 to January 1993, he began working as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Agronomy at the University of Ibadan. From 1991 to 1994, he was also an Associate Lecturer at Lagos State University. From February 1993 to October 2000, he was employed for the non-governmental organisation Basic Trust International as an administrative manager.

In 2002, he became a pioneer staff member at the then-proposed Redeemer’s University, and on September 11, 2017, he was appointed Deputy Registrar. He has been employed by the university in a number of roles and Divisions of the University Registry, such as College Officer, Academic Affairs Officer, Council Affairs Officer, and Human Resources Officer.
From January 2012 to March 31, 2020, he worked as Secretary to the University Management in addition to being the Deputy Registrar at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. He was then transferred to the Academic Affairs Division, where he was the Deputy Registrar in charge of the office until November 20, 2023. After serving as the secretary for the College of Postgraduate Studies, he was named Acting Director of the Directorate of Student Support and Services on April 1, 2024. He remained in this role until February 15, 2025, when he took over as Acting Registrar.
He is an important contributor to the university’s infrastructure development and a valued part of the campus community. He is happily married with kids and serves as a national official and ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Additionally, commencing of Monday, February 17, 2025, Dr. Pauline Adeniran has been named interim University Librarian. Her birthday is September 13, 1972. She graduated from Delta State University in Abraka in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Library and Information Science and from the esteemed University of Ibadan in 2009 with a Master of Archives and Record Management.
In 2017, she graduated from Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Resources Management. She is a member of the Nigerian Library Association and a licensed Nigerian librarian. She began working at the university in 2005, and on October 1, 2022, she rose through the ranks to become the deputy university librarian. She has worked in the Adeboye Collection, Technical Unit, Reference Unit, Serials Unit, and Church History Research Unit of the library. She has authored numerous scholarly publications and served on a number of university committees. In addition, she is happily married and an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
