Kemien Egbekun, a Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) scholarship recipient, graduated with a First Class degree in Law from Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Agbara-Otor, Delta State, with a 4.77 CGPA.

PAP-sponsored students Oladapo Damilola and Toikumo Prosper both earned second-class upper division law grades at the same university’s 6th convocation on September 6, 2024.

Dr. Charles Ariye, Head of Education at PAP, reports that 60 PAP-sponsored students earned first-class degrees in electrical/electronics engineering, computer science, civil engineering, accounting, law, petroleum engineering, physics, international relations, chemistry, biochemistry, political science, medical laboratory science, microbiology, and industrial chemistry between 2016 and 2023, with 2024 results pending.

The Presidential Amnesty Programme Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, was proud of the students’ academic performance. Which demonstrated the PAP’s educational goals and mission to develop human capital in the Niger Delta.

According to his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Otuaro praised the graduates for making their communities and the country proud and urged current PAP scholarship students to maintain similar high standards.

Otuaro credited President Bola Tinubu’s support for these academic results, which accord with his Renewed Hope Agenda to promote Niger Delta peace, stability, and prosperity.

He also noted continued efforts to extend scholarship possibilities for eligible students, noting, “We are thrilled by the outstanding academic achievements of the PAP scholarship students, which demonstrate that the programme is effectively fulfilling its mandate. We will improve educational and vocational programs.”
