The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, revealed this in Bwari on Monday while monitoring exams with JAMB officials.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that over 2 million candidates registered for the ongoing exam in over 800 centres nationwide.

Alausa announced that WAEC and NECO would administer objective papers via CBT in November.
He predicted full CBT adoption for essay and objective components by May or June 2026.
If JAMB can conduct CBT tests for over 2.2 million candidates, so can WAEC and NECO.
We will get WAEC and NECO to start CBT objective exams.
By May/June 2026 tests, objectives and essays will be entirely CBT. We can eliminate exam malpractices that way.
Alausa also said a group is assessing national exam standards and making suggestions next month.
When asked about the early exam schedule, JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede said the board’s UTME exams always started at 8:00 a.m.
Oloyede said candidates simply needed to be on the ground by 6:30 a.m. to get accredited before the examinations.
He dismissed complaints about early arrival times, saying candidates needed to be screened before exams.
We always start exams at 8. Four sessions are held at 8, 10:30, 1 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
Oloyede also denied that candidates were posted to centres they did not pick, saying enquiries had found no such occurrences.
He stated that more than 1.6 million out of 2.03 million registered applicants had passed their tests, with roughly 50,000 remained.
The registrar said more than 40 candidates were arrested for wrongdoing, including impersonation and smuggling exam questions with hidden cameras.
Over 41,000 candidates were underage, he said.
