Update on UNILORIN SUG’s private hostel reservation.
The Students’ Union recognises that Nigeria’s current economic situation presents problems as we get ready for the next academic year. We have talked with private hostel operators to minimise the effect, with your wellbeing as our first priority.
In order to provide a calm, relaxing, and productive atmosphere for our coworkers, we documented the refurbishment, fumigation, and cleaning of hostels.
We regret to notify you that there will be an inevitable 12.5% increase over the previous session’s rate, plus an extra N28,000 for energy costs.
Please remember to pay a N1,000 application fee and a N10,000 caution deposit. The institution will refund the caution deposit if residents do not damage the hostel’s property.
After careful consideration, we balanced the interests of both parties in light of the financial circumstances to reach these unavoidable modifications.
We are happy to inform that reservations for private hostels are now being accepted, starting right now. Please tell the Students’ Union if you detect any deviation or extortion.
We promise to assure fee reductions when the economy recovers, thus we highly urge our colleagues to keep within this agreed price when reserving the private hostels on campus.
