
Niger Delta Peace Champions (#NDPeaceChampions) 2024 Program applicants must be proactive and driven individuals from the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, according to the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND). This special program is designed for young leaders who are willing to assist and improve the peacebuilding infrastructures in their local communities. Its goal is to find creative ways to resolve disputes and pave the way for long-term, sustainable peace in the area.
Resolving the Niger Delta’s Fundamental Conflict
Violent conflicts have long plagued the Niger Delta, seriously impeding peace and development. Understanding this, PIND is committed to teaching youngsters in the community about peacebuilding and incorporating an early warning reporting system. With the help of local partners and stakeholders, this strategy aims to promote a proactive reaction to developing conflicts by means of mediation, early warning analysis, and peace messaging.
Program Objectives and Resources
By improving participants’ proficiency in peacebuilding procedures and practices, the #NDPeaceChampions initiative aims to increase the size of PIND’s network of peacebuilders. Participants will have the ability to effectively contribute to PIND’s Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) system thanks to this project. Important highlights include of:
- Building Capacity: Training in early response techniques, peacebuilding, and conflict early warning will be provided to participants.

Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Residency within the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
- Aged between 18 and 35 years.
- Available for two virtual sessions and one physical training session between February and November 2024.
- Demonstrated motivation and passion for contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in any capacity.
- Possess a viable idea for a peacebuilding intervention applicable to their local community.
