A Nigerian Woman Who Did Not Have a Master’s Degree Wins Seven PhD Scholarships To The US And Canada

Despite lacking a master’s degree, Joy Amadi, an exceptional Nigerian lady, has accomplished an incredible accomplishment by being awarded seven Ph.D. scholarships from prominent colleges in the US and Canada.

Joy graduated from the Federal University of Lokoja, Nigeria, with spectacular first-class honours in Chemistry, with a total grade point average of 4.87 out of 5.00. She was named the top graduating student in her class due to her outstanding academic achievement.

Joy spoke about her incredible achievement of receiving seven PhD scholarships from universities in the US and Canada while just submitting one application. She chose to go to the University of Delaware in the United States for her PhD studies, using one of these scholarships.

Joy thanked God, her parents, and her brothers for their constant support and encouragement throughout her scholastic path in a poignant letter to her LinkedIn network.

According to her:

“Hello, LinkedIn Community, I’m pleased to inform you that I just moved to the United States and have enrolled in the University of Delaware’s PhD program.

She expressed gratitude for the ongoing support and prayers from her close relatives, particularly during her most depressing times.

Joy also expressed her gratitude to a number of people and institutions that helped make her dream of studying overseas a reality, such as the Association of Nigerian Scholars in America, Gbadebo Adejumo, Adeola Adejumobi, Chinenye Uwadileke, and the i-Scholar Initiative (iSI).

Joy further emphasized that her undergraduate instructors’ efforts were not in vain and thanked them for their advice and assistance during the scholarship application process. She attributed her incredible accomplishment to her late father, who always encouraged her goals and had faith in her abilities. Joy knows that her father would be pleased with her achievements and her continuous pursuit of her aspirations even if he is not here.
