A man wins N1 million as UNICAL’s overall best-graduating student, and Nigerians rejoice for him

The University of Calabar’s (UNICAL) top graduate is a young man named Roland Osaji. He received this honor, according to Florence Obi, vice chancellor of UNICAL, with an outstanding CGPA of 4.85 out of 5. Roland was one of the 10,117 graduates of the 2023–2024 class, according to the Daily Post.
The first-class history graduate was reportedly awarded a N1 million Student Union Government (SUG) reward in appreciation of his exceptional academic achievement.
“The valedictorian and overall best student is Roland Takon of the Department of History and International Studies (2021/2022 Session), with Matric No.: 18/032144145,” said the vice-chancellor.
His CGPA is 4.85 out of a possible 5. He is the happy recipient of the SUG Prize for the Overall Best First Class Graduate, worth N1,000,000 (one million naira). University alumni Samuel Imo praised Roland for boosting departmental pride during the convocation ceremony.
