Babcock University Graduate Earns BSc, MA, and PhD in 12 Years
A student from Babcock University has accomplished a remarkable academic feat by successfully obtaining a PhD degree after a committed 12-year academic pursuit.
Benny Dera started his academic pursuits in 2013 and successfully obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2017, with a one-year hiatus for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State.
In 2019, he resumed his studies at Babcock University to seek a master’s degree in public health, which he successfully obtained in 2021. Subsequently, Benny pursued further academic advancement by enrolling in a doctoral program, ultimately achieving successful completion in the year 2024.
His unwavering commitment to school, interrupted only briefly by NYSC, has captivated many on account of his young visage. Benny, while reflecting on his voyage, said, “I have successfully attained the esteemed title of doctor.” Achieving three degrees within a span of 12 years. Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Public Health (MPH), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
