3 Young Students from Universities Win Moniepoint Innovation Awards

Moniepoint Inc., headed by Group CEO Tosin Eniolorunda, awarded three Nigerian university students the first Tosin Eniolorunda Innovation Challenge to foster innovation and promote future leaders. The Management Students Association at the University of Lagos created this project to encourage young Nigerians to become entrepreneurs.

The winners were revealed during the 4th Annual Students Entrepreneurship Programme, which comprised keynote talks, panel discussions, and networking sessions to equip future business leaders to build SMEs. Lagos’ event was titled “Bridging The Gap From Micro To Macro: Empowering SMEs To Drive Sustainable National Growth.”

Participants received encouragement to solve SMEs’ problems creatively, emphasizing the need for an entrepreneurial perspective in addressing social issues. Tosin Eniolorunda, represented by Moniepoint Head of Partnerships Efemena Ogie, stressed that small enterprises drive innovation. He emphasized that these enterprises should receive both strategic and moral empowerment.

Eniolorunda said his undergraduate days fixing difficulties with colleagues encouraged him to help budding businesses. He said, “This initiative aligns with our vision of powering dreams and enabling the growth of SMEs across Nigeria.”

The Innovation Challenge gave recipients seed funds, mentoring, seminars, and training to help them affect their communities.

After a rigorous selection process, five finalists presented their ideas to a panel of professional judges, including Gabriel Balogun, Head of Learning and Development at Moniepoint Inc., and Katherine Adesomoju, Spectrum Holdings CEO.

After winning N1 million, Halimat Ariyo said, “Winning this energizes me to take my business to the next level, and the world will know my name.”

The Tosin Eniolorunda Innovation Challenge highlights the importance of young talent and innovation for Nigeria’s socio-economic progress. The challenge reaffirms Moniepoint’s commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship and equipping young Nigerians for global impact.
