UNILAG School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) Accepts Donation of Books

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Lagos, Prof. Abraham Osinubi, and the institution’s authorities received a donation of books entitled “Reclaiming the Jewel of Africa,” authored by Olusegun Aganga, a former Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Economic Management Team (2010 – 2011) and Minister of Industry, Trade & Investments (2011 – 2015).

Dr. Waheed Olagunju, Founder & CEO of WVL Development Advisers Limited and former Acting Managing Director & CEO of the Bank of Industry, presented the books to the SPGS Management. He had previously served as a National Ex Officio member and as the National Publicity Secretary of the University of Lagos Alumni Association.

During the presentation, Dr. Olagunju emphasized that the books will contribute significantly to research advancement at the University of Lagos. He also shared key insights, ideals, and expectations for Nigeria, along with suggestions featured in the books.

The Dean, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, expressed gratitude to Dr. Olagunju for the book contribution and pledged that they will be used to further research at the University.

Present at the concise presentation were the SPGS Sub-Dean and Deputy Registrar, Dr. Adegboyega Ehinmowo, and Mr. Rotimi Adedunye. The book “Reclaiming the Jewel of Africa” provides an insider’s perspective on transforming Nigeria and Africa from potential to prosperity.

Leveraging extensive expertise in both the commercial and governmental sectors, the author, Olusegun Aganga, offers realistic and pragmatic views that all Nigerians, as well as those invested in Africa’s economic destiny, should contemplate.
