NECO 2024 SSCE performance

NECO announces 2024 SSCE performance figures.

NECO revealed the 2024 SSCE internal results. While addressing press in Minna on the 2024 SSCE internal results, NECO Registrar/Chief Executive Professor Dantani Wushishi revealed this on Thursday, September 19.

He said 1,376,423 (709,950 men and 669,473 females) registered for this year’s internal examination, and 1,367,736 (702,112 males and 665,624) sat.

828,284 (60.55%) earned five credits, including English and maths. The number of applicants with five credits or more, regardless of English or maths, was 1,147,597 (83.90%), whereas 2,267 had special requirements.

This year, 8,437 applicants committed test malpractice, down 30.1 percent from 12,030 in 2023.

The registrar said that Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Borno, and Zamfara performed worst and Abia, Imo, and Ebonyi best.

40 schools in 17 states were accused of whole-school widespread cheating. The council will evaluate the cases and apply punishments.

One Ekiti state school was de-recognized by 21 supervisors in 12 states for widespread cheating in two core courses and one scientific topic. Poor supervision, aiding and abetting, abscondment, extortion, intoxication, and incompetence warranted blacklisting the Supervisors.
