UNICAL suspends Engineering students

After examinations, UNICAL suspends all Faculty of Engineering Final Year students for wild partying.

The Vice Chancellor is appalled by the report she was sent about engineering students who violated management’s orders in our circular Ref. UC/REG/DISC.45, dated August 7, 2024, regarding the “Ban on Reckless Driving, Flying of Colours, and Wild Celebration after Examination,” leading to acts of lawlessness today, September 25, 2024. These students started acting in a way that endangered the tranquillity and quiet of the university, blatantly violating the current regulations. Under the pretence of celebrating the conclusion of their final exams, these students participated in a careless, disorderly, and boisterous convoy.

This incident breaks the heart of the Vice Chancellor, who has ordered the suspension of all final-year engineering students. As a result, the concerned students now face suspension, effective Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

By making this choice, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) will ensure that all procedures related to processing the results will be suspended. This applies specifically to the impacted students. This suspension will continue until the Special Committee completes its investigations.

Please ensure that the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering follows this instruction. Every Head of Department within the Faculty must also fully comply with this directive.
