Soludo Declares Complimentary Education for Senior Secondary Schools in Anambra.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has declared the implementation of free education for pupils in public senior secondary schools, commencing next week.
The declaration occurred at a meeting with principals and head teachers of public primary and secondary schools in Awka, elaborating on his prior policy of free and compulsory education from nursery to junior secondary levels.
Soludo said that senior secondary students would be exempt from the N5,000 tuition cost, and refunds will be provided to those who have already remitted payment.
He underscored that this program, albeit constrained resources, would improve educational access and foster the development of students’ skills and abilities.
The governor also affirmed that the government would commence disbursement of the N70,000 minimum wage in October, therefore underscoring the administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of workers and students in the state.
