Governor Bago Awards Scholarships, Upgrades Healthcare, and Boosts Development in Agwara
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has awarded scholarships to 100 students from Agwara Local Government Area to pursue medical-related courses locally and internationally. During his statewide projects monitoring tour in Agwara, the governor highlighted that this initiative aims to produce qualified health professionals to meet the healthcare demands of the community.
Governor Bago announced plans to upgrade the Level 2 Primary Healthcare Center in Agwara to a general hospital. This enhancement aims to provide advanced medical services and improve healthcare delivery in the region.
The governor urged parents to utilize the state’s free education program, underscoring the transformative power of education. Beyond healthcare, he pledged to construct a market in Agwara to stimulate trade and harness the area’s agricultural resources, driving economic growth.
During his visit, Governor Bago inspected the proposed site for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Secretariat. He committed to tarring the access road and promoting environmental conservation through tree planting under the Green Initiative.
The governor also paid homage to the Sarkin Agwara, Alh. Hassan Zakari Mohammed, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and seeking royal blessings for his development plans.
