Unilesa Student Receives Nigerian Army Scholarship

Miss Christianah Oyindamola Obadare Awarded Nigerian Army Scholarship

Miss Christianah Oyindamola Obadare, a student of the Faculty of Education at the University of Ilesa, Osun State, received a scholarship grant from the Nigerian Army under the Chief of Army Staff Special Scholarship Scheme.

The scholarship presentation took place on Tuesday, 10th December 2024, at the 2 Division Headquarters of the Nigerian Army in Ojoo, Ibadan.

During the event, Major General O.O. Onubogu, the General Officer Commanding, presented the scholarship on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu, Ph.D., FCA, along with other university officials, the beneficiary, and her parents attended the occasion.

Major General Onubogu shared that the scholarship was part of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting quality education in Nigeria and aligning with the Federal Government’s National Education Loan Fund (NELF) initiative.

He emphasized that the scholarship would renew annually, contingent on Miss Obadare’s continued academic success.

In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Asaolu expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for this initiative, highlighting its potential to promote academic excellence among students.
