With an outstanding 4.90/5.00 CGPA and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Amarachi Osuji became the University of Debrecen, Hungary’s finest graduating student.
Her path was everything but typical. Before deciding it wasn’t the best fit for her, Amarachi struggled academically for three years while pursuing medicine at the same university. She bravely decided to change her major to chemical engineering in 2016, which she later called “the best decision I ever made.”

She not only adjusted but also flourished in a whole different subject, graduating with honours in 2020. Amarachi acknowledges her parents’ sacrifices and encouragement during her transition, attributing her achievement to their constant support. She continued to excel academically after that.
She later graduated with a master’s degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts in 2023 and is now working as a graduate assistant there while pursuing a PhD in biotechnology.
