With the goal of uplifting disadvantaged people and assisting them in their academic endeavours, the Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has given 87 tertiary education students bursaries totalling more than eight million naira.
Dr. Festus Uzor, Chairman of the Trustees, spoke during the ceremony and underlined the foundation’s dedication to eradicating poverty via healthcare aid, education, business, and vocational training. He outlined a vision for a society in which all young people have access to the tools they need to live fulfilling lives.

Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, the deputy governor of Enugu State, commended the effort and emphasised that education is the cornerstone of a forward-thinking society. He exhorted the recipients to take full advantage of the occasion. In a similar vein, Senator Osita Ngwu urged students to stay committed to their studies, stressing that they may succeed like Dr. Uzor through hard work.
Dr. Ferdinand Anikwe, the event chairman from Ozo, praised Dr. Uzor’s altruism in starting the foundation and said he has used his compassion to help others.
Some recipients conveyed their sincere appreciation, pointing out that the bursary arrived at a pivotal moment in the midst of Nigeria’s economic difficulties. Central Washington College of Health Sciences student Ani Henry Chukwuka called the honour a transformative experience.
Several luminaries attended the ceremony, including Dr. Martins Chukwunweike, the chairman of the Enugu State PDP, Commissioner for Culture Ugochi Madueke, and Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu.
