After Winning an Award, a UI student’s Name Steals The Show.

In addition to winning two awards, a pharmacy student at the University of Ibadan (UI) has gone viral on social media with his unique moniker, Will John Flourish.

At his department’s gala, the 400-level student—who also works as a mixologist—won Best Dressed (Male, 400 Level) and Socialite of the Year. He celebrated by posting a picture of his prizes on X (previously Twitter) with the message, “What a nightt.”

His tweet gained more than a hundred comments, more than 500 likes, and over 856,000 views in a short period of time. There was a rush of reactions as many people applauded him, while others were more interested in his name.

While some people joked that his name felt empty without a question mark, others suggested rearranging it into a positive affirmation.

Will John Flourish handled the online commotion calmly, jokingly responding to the remarks and enjoying the sudden attention his name had garnered.
