The headmaster of a private school in Eyin Ogbe, Igode, close to Ogijo, Mr. Ashafa Afelaja, was arrested by the Ogun State government on suspicion of molesting a female student. Authorities acted quickly after a concerned citizen reported the incident, which led to the arrest.
The ministry’s rescue squad reportedly intervened at Adamo, Ikorodu, a border hamlet, where the accused allegedly abused the student, according to a statement released by State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Adijat Adeleye. While the culprit is still in police custody, Adeleye reassured the public that the victim is getting medical attention and psychological support. In addition to encouraging people to report instances of domestic violence, child abuse, and other human abuse, she underlined the government’s dedication to ensuring justice for all abuse survivors.

She reiterated that domestic violence, child abuse, and gender-based violence are all unacceptable under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s government. To ensure prompt action against offenders, the state administration is still working with law enforcement.
A four-year-old youngster in Igboko, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, was reportedly beaten by his father before being rescued by ministry personnel in a different instance. The child is being treated medically and given emotional assistance while in the ministry’s protective custody.
Commissioner Adeleye attested that the accused offender is currently being held by the police and that legal action is being taken. She urged the people to back government initiatives to end abuse in all its manifestations and protect the security and welfare of those who are most in need.
