Students are in shock following a sad occurrence at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where a student reportedly fell from a storey building while trying to escape from the police.

A video showing the incident’s aftermath was published on social networking site X, which was formerly Twitter, where the news first appeared. Reports claim that the cops put the student’s body in the back seat of their car after the deadly fall and then drove off. According to reports, a number of other people were also taken into custody at the scene.
As a police car drove off, a voice confirmed the horrific incident in the widely shared video. Online, the video immediately provoked indignation and discussion, with many people raising doubts about the student’s death’s circumstances and the involvement of law authorities.
Users posted a wide range of reactions in the comment box, including:
- @___klassy: “Why are you evading the police if you’re clean?”
- @JohnEkpere31177: “What made him run? People can occasionally cause their own issues.
- @DaddyJeeHoe: “Young people in Nigeria are too afraid of the Nigerian police. Imagine being afraid of the people who are there to keep us safe.@badablestarlove: “Oh my god, there is just too much hate in the world. This is devastating.
- @mrcleanthing: “From what source was he fleeing? The fault should not be placed on the cops.
- @SFM101_: “Why are the NDLEA, EFCC, and police conducting surprise raids on student residence halls?”
- @kingkhone4real: “Why go to such lengths to get away? Don’t flee if you’re innocent. May you rest in peace.
- @saintzeez: “What did they want to find in a dorm at school? People are behaving as though they are unfamiliar with Nigerian law enforcement.
- @FredMorgan29671: “If I’m innocent, no security guard—police, army, or soldier—should force me to flee.” Since most cases terminate at the police station, why put your life in danger?
Concerns over student safety on campuses and law enforcement tactics have been brought up by the occurrence. To guarantee responsibility and stop future tragedies of this nature, many are demanding an investigation.
