Andrew Ominikoron, a BRT bus driver, was found guilty by a Lagos Federal High Court of killing fashion designer Bamise Ayanwola, 22, and was given a death by hanging sentence.
After Bamise boarded a BRT bus in Lagos and was reported missing, the matter garnered national attention in 2022. When her lifeless body was found a few days later, it sparked outrage and demands for justice.
Prosecutors provided evidence during the trial that connected Ominikoron to her demise.
