At its 76th statutory meeting, the Redeemer’s University Governing Council, presided over by Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, named Mr. Samuel Momodu, FCA, as the institution’s bursar. Prior to his appointment, he served as the university’s deputy bursar and, briefly, as its acting bursar.

In 2000, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the esteemed University of Benin, located in Benin City, Edo State. In 2016, he reached the pinnacle of his career as a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants. As a model professional in his sector, he has trained and mentored the next generation of professionals.
In 2022, he also received a Master of Business Administration from Oduduwa University in Ipetumodu, Osun State. Since 2000, Mr. Momodu has also been an associate member of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Taxation. For thirty-five years, he has been a prominent figure in the nation’s accounting and taxation industries. He is the most senior employee in the Bursary Department and a founding staff member of Redeemer’s University. He is happily married with kids and serves as a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, ffan, fffps, congratulated the new bursar on his appointment and cautioned him to use his professional skills to advance the university. Upon receiving the news of his appointment, Mr. Momodu expressed gratitude to God and all those who had supported him in prayer, particularly the Vice-Chancellor, Chair of the Governing Council, and other prominent figures whom God had used to bring his dream to life.
