Pretty SS2 Student Wins Essay Contest, Scholarship, 500k Cash
Christabel Chiamaka Amu, a student in the second year of senior secondary school (SS2) at Roseville Secondary School in Enugu, emerged as the winner of the Coal City University Chancellor’s Annual Essay Contest. Her winning essay, titled “Social Media as a Double-Edged Sword,” secured her victory. The assessors were pleased by her astute examination of the matter.
The esteemed competition, which extends an invitation to senior secondary students from the whole area, provides a forum for young intellectuals to articulate their viewpoints on significant matters. Christabel’s article was notable for its equitable examination of the advantages and disadvantages of social networking.
Christabel’s work emphasized the significance of social media in facilitating connections between individuals, disseminating information, and promoting beneficial transformations. However, she also acknowledged the adverse effects of cyberbullying, dissemination of false information, and privacy issues. Her subtle and sophisticated viewpoint, as well as her eloquent writing, resulted in her winning the first award.
Christabel, being the victor, received a scholarship to Coal City University along with a cash reward of 500,000 naira.
