10-Year-Old Prodigy Earns Two Degrees from U.S. University.

Alisa Perales, a bright 10-year-old girl, has achieved a historic first by becoming the youngest-ever graduate of Yucaipa, California’s Crafton Hills College.

Alisa, who resides in San Bernardino, earned two associate degrees in mathematics and science while almost achieving a perfect cumulative GPA.

Alisa has always found the quest for knowledge to be enjoyable. According to her in an interview with KABC, studying is just as much fun for her as being outside or riding a bike. “I find it really enjoyable — nearly as enjoyable as playing outside, riding a bike, or anything else,” she said.

According to Rafael Perales, Alisa’s father, she started reading books at the young age of two and was solving algebraic equations by the time she was five.

Rafael never imagined seeing Alisa graduate from college at such a young age, despite his constant belief in her abilities. Even though he wanted her to start college by the age of ten, it was unreal to watch her graduate.

From the time Alisa was one year old, Rafael assumed the position of her homeschool instructor. Six days a week, they started their long study sessions at 8 a.m. and occasionally stayed until 4 p.m. Despite the intense dedication, their efforts produced remarkable outcomes.

We were working six days a week from eight in the morning till four in the afternoon. It took a lot of effort,” Rafael said.

Alisa’s experience at Crafton Hills began when a guidance counsellor recommended that she think about community college when she was eight years old.

Despite her impressive academic achievements, Alisa has encountered social difficulties as a result of her expedited education. Rafael admitted that it was challenging to locate classmates her age with comparable educational levels, requiring additional work to give her play and socialisation chances.

She isn’t able to play with her classmates and attend school like a typical 10-year-old. To locate other kids to play with, we’ve had to make the extra effort to cycle around the neighbourhood,” he said.

Nevertheless, Alisa remains resolute in following her scholastic objectives. Following her graduation, she hopes to move to a university — with Stanford University being a likely choice — where she aims to acquire a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

She is just beginning her journey. What surprises me the most is that. It’s been a short ten years, but we’ve achieved so much,” her father reflected.
