17 People were killed in the Zamfara Almajiri School fire.

At least 17 kids have died and numerous more have been injured in a horrific fire outbreak at an Almajiri school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

The fire started late Tuesday night and burned for about three hours before it was ultimately put out, according to security sources. Rescue efforts were complicated by the fierce fire, according to witnesses.

When local authorities and emergency personnel arrived on the site to offer assistance, the fire had already claimed a large number of lives.

Medical attention is currently being given to the affected students. To ascertain the cause of the incident and evaluate fire safety protocols at schools throughout the state, authorities have initiated an investigation.
