2000 laptops are Given to Principals and Headteachers by Gov. Soludo

The free laptops provided by the state of Anambra to 2000 Head Teachers and Principals of public and public-mission schools are in keeping with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s motto of “technology everywhere, everything technology”.

The first round of laptop distribution was carried out today at the International Convention Centre in Awka by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The Governor claims that his administration wants Anambra Public Schools to become intelligent, and he is urging the head teachers to share this goal.

The Governor promised to develop an organized training program that will allow educators to be at the forefront of technology and stressed that benefits will trickle down as resources continue to advance.

The Governor, who disclosed that enrollment in Anambra public schools has increased to almost 20 percent as a result of the state’s free education program, declared that the enrollment rate will continue to rise.

He promised that because Government cannot accomplish development work on its own, it would continue to place a high value on the calibre of instructors and instruction, utilizing partnerships with the community and the private sector.

The Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, called the event as historic in state history and mentioned the education family as the most favoured under the current administration, even if he acknowledged that the initiative links to the six comprehensive pillars of education.

Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, the Chairperson of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, stated that authorization has been obtained to outfit laboratories in every school and praised the governor for showing compassion toward administrators, teachers, and pupils.

The initiative is in line with the Governor’s promise to provide government laptops to schools and to make wi-fi more accessible, according to Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, Chairperson of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board. The transformation agenda aims to position Anambra’s public schools as role models.
