22-year-old Nigerian, is a 2025 Nobel Peace Prize nominee.

In honour of her international diplomatic endeavours and dedication to establishing chances for underprivileged people, Zuriel Oduwole, a fervent supporter of gender equality, education, and peace, has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

Oduwole, who was born in Los Angeles to Nigerian grandparents, has interacted with presidents and prime ministers from around the world to impact debates about development, peace, and education. Her goal has been to increase underprivileged groups’ access to education and encourage systemic change.

She met with then-President David Granger at the UN to promote peaceful communication and played a significant role in negotiating a territorial dispute between Guyana and Venezuela when she was just 13 years old.

In the midst of the Arab embargo of Qatar, which ended amicably in 2021, she conferred with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in 2020 on international peace measures.

When Oduwole was nine years old, he became passionate about education after seeing young girls in Accra, Ghana, peddling items rather than going to school. She was motivated by this experience to push for systemic change and draw attention to educational obstacles through documentary filmmaking.

As the creator of “Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand,” she gives young people—particularly girls—the confidence to fight for their rights and opportunities in the future. She has impacted laws and contributed to the development of a more just and inclusive world via diplomacy and narrative.

Oduwole stressed the importance of investing more in young changemakers after hearing that she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. “I said,” she said.

“I have always spoken up when necessary, but I have never sought attention. The pressing need to support young voices as change agents is reflected in this honour. Later this year, the 2025 laureate will be revealed by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

Oduwole’s nomination, regardless of the result, emphasises Nigeria’s expanding worldwide prominence and reaffirms the importance of youth advocacy in influencing international policy and peace initiatives. One of the most prominent awards in the world, the Nobel Peace Prize honours people and institutions that have significantly advanced human rights and peace.
