5,816 graduates from the 2023–2024 academic year will receive degrees during the ceremony, 119 of them received first-class honours in a variety of subject areas.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, gave a news conference at the Academic Publishing Centre, Gidan Kwano Campus, where he emphasised the breakdown of graduating students. Of the 4,955 students in the undergraduate category, 1,431 graduated with a Second Class Upper Division degree, 2,341 with a Second Class Lower Division degree, 972 with a Third Class degree, and 92 with a Pass degree.
861 postgraduate students will graduate, including 105 Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) graduates, 632 MTech recipients, and 124 PhD holders.

In addition, honorary degrees and honours will be given to notable people for their services to society and education at the ceremony.
Prof. Kuta outlined a number of significant events, such as the launch of 13 new academic programs that have been authorised by the National Universities Commission (NUC), including Data Science, Software Engineering, and Forensic Science. These initiatives seek to meet societal demands and global competitiveness.
Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the progress made in faculty training, e-learning, and the complete accreditation of all university programs by regulatory agencies like ESVARBON, ARCON, and SURCON. In order to promote international collaborations, FUT Minna has also ratified more than 30 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with regional and foreign organisations.
