Our caps and gowns are gone

The University of Lagos (Unilag) administration reports that the postgraduate students’ graduation gowns are missing.
The leadership said that the gown had been taken, which caused the 54th convocation ceremony of the school to be postponed.
There was a claim that the gowns for the postgraduate ceremony, for which the students were required to spend fifteen thousand dollars apiece, were pilfered during their transportation on the university bus.
At the convocation event, 340 people will get first-class degree certificates in total. Many of the students were disappointed by the current development even though they were excited to get their graduation gowns.
Students were frustrated because the gowns, which they had previously paid for, were supposed to be sent ahead of time to prepare for the event.
The University’s School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) administration has notified postgraduate students of the setback via SMS and email addresses.
“Dear graduate, we regret to inform you that the distribution of SPGS academic gowns is currently suspended,” the statement says. Sadly, our bus was vandalized this afternoon, and the remaining dresses were taken.
Lawyer Malachy Odo, one of the impacted parties, expressed his dissatisfaction with his X account.
He said he got the text message about the incident after he had already paid for the convocation gown in full.
He said “I paid 15k for a convocation gown yesterday and this is what UNILAG just sent me. This country is not a real place.
