Duration and Requirements for Entry

4-Year Degree Programmes

NCE and National Diploma holders can enrol in a 4-year sandwich degree program offered by the University of Nigeria.

Requirements for Admission:

• Candidates must have graduated from an accredited higher education institution in Nigeria with at least a Merit in the applicable NCE.
• Candidates must also have passed the O’level exams with at least five (5) credit passes, including English language and mathematics, or their equivalents, in no more than two sittings.

OR

• Candidates must have graduated from an accredited higher education program with at least a Merit National Diploma.
• Candidates must also fulfil the previously indicated O-level qualifications, just like the first condition.

Five-Year Sandwich Degree Program

For those with credentials such Teachers Grade II Certificate, NCE, National Diploma, WASCE/GCE/NECO, NABTEB, or NCE, the University also offers a 5-year Sandwich Degree Program.

Admission Requirements:

• In addition to earning at least five (5) credits at O’ Level or its equivalent, earned in no more than two sittings, candidates must have passed the NCE.

OR

• In no more than two sittings, candidates must have earned five (5) credit passes at the SSCE O’ Level in Mathematics and English, or in any additional subjects required by their specific programs.

Application Procedure: A Detailed Overview

• JAMB Registration: To speed up JAMB’s capture and registration procedure, applicants should register through JAMB (State Office) and designate UNN as their first preference.
• Processing Fee Payment: After registering for JAMB, go to the UNN site, create a “Sandwich Registration Invoice,” and send a remittance payment of N5,000.00 (for the 4-year program) or N10,000.00 (for the 5-year program).
• Online Verification Form Go back to the UNN portal, fill out the online Verification Form, print the completed Registration Form, and send it to the Sandwich and Evening Programs Unit Office of the Registry Department together with your academic credentials.

Note: A university aptitude exam is required of applicants for the five-year degree program.

• The JAMB Sandwich forms for 2024 are now accessible. Interestingly, applicants to these programs are exempt from taking the JAMB test.
