UI, University Of Ibadan Launches 10-Hour Daily Electricity Schedule
The Vice-Chancellor sanctioned a 10-hour daily energy supply schedule at the University of Ibadan. This approach meets university power needs and improves student and staff experiences.
Engr. O.A. Adetolu, Director of Works, explained the revised plan in a July 16, 2024 internal document (DMW/002/092). New energy supply times:
8:00 AM–2:00 PM (6 hours)
10:00 PM–2:00 AM (4 hours)
This planned power schedule supports day and nighttime academic and residential activities. Daytime hours will support academic, administrative, and campus functions, while overnight hours will promote student study and residential comfort.
Engr. Adetolu recommended tight adherence to the agreed timeline for effective execution. The university administration’s commitment to campus life and study is shown by this project.
