How Universities Admitted 10-Year-Olds
Oloyede said that several institutions disregard the legal age restriction of 18 by accepting pupils as young as 10 years old.
During the policy conference held in Abuja by JAMB, Oloyede provided examples of institutions like as UNILAG and OAU that have a minimum age requirement of 16 years.
Additionally, he recounted a situation where an applicant who applied for a master’s degree at a German institution later turned out to have obtained her bachelor’s degree from a Nigerian university at the young age of 15.
He said that although the age requirement for admission is 18 years, UNILAG and OAU strictly enforce a minimum age of 16. Some of you will concede even 10.
