Emem Isong-Misode, a leading figure in Nollywood and a highly skilled producer, screenwriter, and director, just obtained a doctoral degree in Film and Media Arts from the University for the Creative Arts in the United Kingdom. She relocated to the United States a few years ago.
Emem, a renowned filmmaker with over 25 years of experience, recently finished a four-year program that explored the concept of hybridity and its influence on identity formation in Nigerian Nollywood cinema. Some of her notable films include “The Breaking Point,” “Reloaded,” “Private Sin,” and “She Devil.”
On Instagram, she expressed her joy and gratitude for completing her PhD studies at the University for the Creative Arts. I really appreciate their unwavering support throughout this whole process. From 2020 until 2024, there will be a period of rigorous academic pursuit. After a thorough viva presentation, criticism, and suggestions, I can proudly introduce Dr. Emem Isong Misode (PhD).
