UNIBEN Students Entrapped Following the Collapse of a Three-Storey Building After Intense Rainfall.
A three-storey building collapsed in Ekosodin, trapping several University of Benin (UNIBEN) students in the off-campus area mostly occupied by students.
The collapse transpired after a substantial rainfall that continued from the early hours of Saturday until around 10 a.m.
A university staff member told Vanguard that rescuers freed some individuals, but others remain trapped, and they are summoning more assistance to support the ongoing rescue operations.
The university administration has not yet issued an official comment.
