The University of Ibadan’s administration has verified that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund approved loan applications for 3,283 students at the university.
In an internal memorandum released on Wednesday, management clarified that although the loans have been approved, the funds have not yet been disbursed.
The memorandum, endorsed by the institution’s Registrar, G. O. Salisu, directed department heads to allow students with authorised loans to participate in the first-semester exams.
In reference to circular REG/13/I.26 dated 13 September 2024, I inform the University of Ibadan community that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund has approved 3,283 student loan applications.
Although the university has not received the funds yet, the list of affected students has been forwarded to the respective departments.
All Heads of Departments have been instructed to allow these students to participate in the first-semester exams for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The message said, “This is for the information and strict adherence of staff and students.”
