Stanford University and Elsevier named Professor Olayide Lawal and Dr. Temitope Adefarati among the world’s top 2% scientists. The news inspired university celebrations, confirming FUOYE’s worldwide academic leadership.
Professor Lawal, FUOYE’s Director of Research and Development and an industrial and macromolecular chemist, thanked God, stating, “To God alone be the glory.” This accomplishment shows how our Vice-Chancellor fosters excellence.” He also credited his colleagues and pupils for this honour. Prof. Lawal, a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, has been on this list for years.
Engineering instructor Dr. Temitope Adefarati specialises in renewable energy, power systems, and smart grid technologies. His writings and worldwide conference presentations have advanced international research. Dr. Adefarati said, “I am incredibly proud and humbled to be regarded as one of the best scientists in the world. This honour honours my mentors, coworkers, students, and research commitment.”
Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, FUOYE’s Vice-Chancellor, complimented both academics for their accomplishments, saying they reflect the university’s growing reputation. I am thrilled by this. “It shows that FUOYE is living up to its mission of becoming a world-class institution,” he added, committing to funding academic expansion.
