The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, a national holiday to honour the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary. Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, said on Saturday that the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, issued the proclamation on behalf of the Federal Government.
The Minister emphasised the importance of reflecting on the contributions of our past heroes, urging Nigerians to draw inspiration for future endeavours, and recognising that the realisation of our envisioned Nigeria is contingent upon our unity.
“In extending Independence Day Anniversary greetings to Nigerians, Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to remain resolute in the pursuit of nation-building,” the statement said.
