After posting a video of the dilapidated quarters offered by her Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) in Kebbi State, a Nigerian corps member has provoked internet outrage.
The young woman, who was sent to the northern state as part of her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, said she was appalled by the state of the flat that was provided to her. The video revealed a home with a badly broken ceiling, deteriorated walls, and a generally run-down look.
The corper acknowledged that she was distressed and that she started crying when she saw the accommodations. “Room and parlour self-contained,” she said. At first sight, I started crying.

Social media users responded to her post with a combination of humour and pity, and it swiftly went viral. While some users suggested she go back home rather than put up with such living circumstances, others made jokes about avoiding their own deployments to Kebbi.
While Kebbi State’s rural parts may be poor, the state capital provides superior living circumstances, according to a user named @Nanarh Firdausi.
Discussions concerning the living conditions of corps members in isolated locations are still sparked by the film, and many people are beginning to doubt the extent of the government’s and NYSC’s support for their well-being.
