Praise Esor, a scholar from Nigeria, has accomplished a remarkable academic achievement by graduating with two First-Class degrees from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
She started her path to academic success in 2019 when she enrolled in UNILAG’s Department of Sociology’s Advanced Diploma program in Social Development and Administration. She excelled in her academics and was one of the top in her class when she graduated with a First-Class.

The Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) at UNILAG offers the demanding two-year full-time Advanced Diploma program, which is intended to improve professional abilities and offer globally recognised credentials.
Upon successful completion, students can enrol in a bachelor’s degree program. Praise’s outstanding achievement earned her direct admission to UNILAG in 2019 so she may study social work for her bachelor’s degree. She continued to show her commitment by graduating in 2024 with honours and a First-Class degree, giving her the unique status of a double First-Class holder.
She was among the top four graduating students in her department due to her exceptional academic performance. In a LinkedIn article, Praise reflected on her trip and discussed the difficulties she encountered, especially her financial difficulties. She was nevertheless unwavering, disciplined, and dedicated to reaching her objectives.
In order to stay focused, she created a “triangular lifestyle,” spending all of her time alternating between classes, the library, and her hostel. “I understood that being mediocre was never an option! I gave up my social life to pursue this ambition, but now I can say with confidence that it was all worthwhile,” she said.
Praise expressed her gratitude to her family for their ongoing support and to the amazing people at UNILAG and beyond who helped make her a success.
