In an attempt to get her children to register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Jane Uche, a grieving widow, has begged the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to resolve SIM-related issues.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday, Uche revealed that her late husband had created JAMB profile codes for their kids in prior tests using his phone number. She was unable to obtain the SIM card, which is now necessary for further registrations, after his death, though.

Since their father’s death, none of my three children—ages 20, 18, and 16—have been admitted. While my peers are still at home, theirs are graduating. “The grief keeps getting worse,” she bemoaned.
She urged JAMB to include clauses that will enable candidates who are experiencing comparable difficulties to continue registering even if they lose their SIM card.
While the situation is regrettable, the board cannot override its system, which requires the same SIM card for profile code retrieval, according to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin. He advised her to contact the network provider for help.
