Within weeks of settling into her dorm, a female student was found stealing three power banks from other residents, leading to her expulsion.
Prior to the event, which received widespread attention on TikTok, the hostel boasted a theft-free atmosphere where students could securely charge their gadgets in a shared space. But after the new student arrived in January, things started to disappear.
A comprehensive check of the student’s room was conducted when three power banks and a charger vanished, and the pilfered goods were found concealed in the student’s backpack.
Since no such occurrence had happened in the hostel’s two-year history, the theft infuriated the whole hostel community, according to a student who posted the account online. The student allegedly shown no remorse despite being busted.
The caretaker and hostel president quickly arranged for her possessions to be removed after the finding, and following a quick meeting, it was decided to expel her right away.
As hostel residents rejoiced over the return of their safe haven, she left the grounds that same morning with all she owned.
