Mosunmola Kudirat Ariwoola, a 61-year-old Nigerian woman, has demonstrated to the world that perseverance knows no age boundaries by completing her lifelong dream of receiving a PhD in Educational Technology from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).
Mosunmola missed the opportunity to go to school as a child since she grew up in an era when female education was not valued. But when she was 20, she decided to take control of her own destiny and went back to her hometown to start school on her own initiative.

She said, “I knew what I wanted, so I stuck to it, but I had no one to motivate or encourage me.”
Despite the delayed start, Mosunmola persevered in her studies and eventually earned a doctorate, something that had previously appeared unattainable.
When she looked back on her journey, she attributed her accomplishment to her children’s support, her strong will, and her persistent drive.
“A PhD program is extremely demanding, especially at my age, but I made it with the support of my family, God, and my determination,” she exclaimed with satisfaction.
Mosunmola, who now holds a PhD with pride, hopes that her tale will encourage women everywhere to pursue their dreams.
“I tell women that there are no boundaries to what they can do. It’s never too late to chase your dreams. “Be diligent, maintain your focus, and continue to pray,” she said.
As a supporter of women’s empowerment, Mosunmola now calls for equal chances and urges women of all ages to place a high value on education and personal development.
