The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South-East Zone, has named Dr. Celine Nnebedum, the Registrar of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), the Most Student-Friendly Registrar in South-East Nigeria.
Comrade Charles Ijeomah, the NANS South-East Coordinator, commended Nnebedum for her steadfast commitment to student welfare during the award ceremony held in her office on Wednesday. He regarded her as a mother figure and role model who is always there to help pupils through their difficulties.
“Our research has demonstrated that Dr. Nnebedum is a kind leader who puts students’ needs first and maintains equity in her work. We want to thank her for her efforts and encourage her to keep up the good work, therefore we gave her this award,” he said.

Ijeomah encouraged registrars at other South-East colleges to adopt Nnebedum’s student-centered leadership style while accompanied by other student executives and stakeholders.
“This honour was not bestowed by accident. “Everyone who has worked with her speaks highly of her dedication and kindness towards students, and NANS has closely observed her commitment,” he continued.
Dr. Nnebedum responded by expressing her sincere gratitude for the honour and that it will inspire her to keep helping students and people in general. “I am so incredibly happy right now.
I cannot adequately thank you for this honour; it is invaluable. It will only motivate me to work harder,” she remarked. She underlined that she is dedicated to using her position to have a positive influence and that her function as registrant is a divine responsibility.
“I view every student as my kid, just like a mother would. “I firmly believe in the biblical principle that you will reap what you sow,” she continued. Additionally, Dr. Nnebedum praised NANS for its honesty, order, and commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of students throughout Nigeria.
